The Fish Lake Conservancy District was formed after two engineering reports indicated that Fish Lake and its watershed needed specialized attention due to increased eutrophication. The cost of this specialized attention made it impossible for the two main organizations (Fish Lake Property Owners Association and The Conservation Club) to fund. Creation of the District was the culmination of years of effort by many community members and organization leaders. The Conservancy District has received generous donations and volunteer support from both organizations to reduce the tax burden on the freeholders of the district. The district has also received state grants to help fund both sediment trap dredging and aquatic vegetation control. The Conservancy District wishes to extend a hearty 'thank you' to all who have donated their time and effort.
