The Fish Lake Conservancy District was
decreed on November 16, 1998 by Judge Robert Gilmore for the
exclusive purpose of maintaining constructed sediment traps and
aquatic vegetation control. These are the only functions of the
district as spelled out by the court decree and cannot be altered.
The District is
comprised of seven at-large Directors,Chaired by Thomas Chuchman,
The Members of the Board are as follows: Larry Wyscoki, Glenn
Florence, Jon Dittmar, Larry Wood. David Hollenbeck is the Attorney
and J.F. New & Associates is the engineering consultant for the
Conservancy District.
The accounting firm of
Parkinson & Hinton P.C. is the Chief Financial Officer and Maureen
Lee is the Recording Secretary. Nominating petitions for election to
the Board of Directors are to be post-marked by the 30th of November
for the following election that is held on the fourth Saturday of
February.
The Conservancy
District is comprised of four committees. Mr. Chuchman chairs the
Executive Committee and is ex-officio on all committees. The
Executive Committee is comprised of the four-committee chairpersons
and is responsible for setting policy for the Conservancy District.
Mr. Wysocki chairs the
Administrative Committee, which oversees all administrative
functions of the Conservancy District. Mr. Dittmar chairs the
Planning Committee, which formulates the operations of the
Conservancy District. Mr. Florence chairs the Finance Committee,
which prepares the budget and administers the fiscal affairs of the
Conservancy District. All committees meet on an as- needed basis
with prior notice given to the public, via newspaper or Fish Lake
Library bulletin board. All recommendations from the committees are
presented to the full Board of Directors at the regularly scheduled
meetings.
The general meetings
are tentatively scheduled on the fourth Saturday of the following
months: February, April, July, August, September and in December.

Please note:
The September meeting date may have to be modified so as to comply
with the Indiana budget adoption deadline of September 13.
The public hearing on
proposed budgets is tentatively scheduled for the month of August.
All general meetings begin at 9:00 am CST, and are held at the Fish
Lake Community Conservation Club, located at
7873 East SR 4, Fish Lake, Indiana. All meetings are subject to
Governmental rules and are always open to the public. Minutes of the
meetings and all official documents are available for public
viewing.
